A HOME IN THE MAKING FOR GENERATIONS IN RURAL GEORGIA The Taylor family, deeply rooted in the picturesque town of Hiawassee, Georgia, found themselves on the cusp of a new chapter. Generations of Taylors had lived on the land they now proudly called their own, and it was time to build a home that would stand as a testament to their family legacy.
Josh and Jentry and their three children, Joc, JD, and Jaxi, were thrilled to embark on their design journey with Reynard Custom Homes. The expansive 6.5 acre property on Cynth Creek Road in Hiawassee, GA was a canvas waiting to be transformed into their dream home.
The home, a carefully crafted vision, boasted 2866 square feet of heated space and 5692 heated and unheated square footage. With 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, the Taylor residence is more than just a house; it is a haven for the family's dreams and memories.
As the construction progressed, the home took shape with high ceilings that added a touch of grandeur to every room. The oversized garage, designed for a sporting and active family boasts high ceilings suitable for basketball, baseball, and cheerleading practice. The mudroom seamlessly connected to the garage and the laundry room, ensuring that the family could easily transition from outdoor activities to the comforts of their home.
The heart of the home, the kitchen, is equipped with a stove nestled in the center island to maximize kitchen space, visibility and traffic flow. Overlooking the large wraparound porch, the kitchen sink provided a scenic view of the surrounding farmland, barns, and distant mountains. The covered porch is an expansive retreat, offering ample space for relaxation and gatherings.
The great room, adorned with a chimney and a grand fireplace, echoed the sentiment of warmth and togetherness. High ceilings accentuated the sense of openness, making the room an inviting gathering space for the entire family.
The home's design harmoniously blended the updated farmhouse aesthetic, incorporating both creative and traditional elements. The exterior showcased a charming facade that resonated with the beauty of the Georgia landscape.
Halfway through the design process, an unexpected surprise came their way. Jentry discovered she was pregnant, adding joy and excitement to the Taylor family's journey. Wanting to share this moment with the Reynard Design team, they incorporated a room addition into the floor plans, keeping it a secret until the big reveal.
During a design meeting, Josh finally noticed the additional room. The room's purpose became apparent as the Reynard Design team unveiled the sonogram, turning the surprise into an unforgettable memory etched into the blueprint of their dream home.
As the construction continued, the Taylor family eagerly anticipated the completion of their home, scheduled for mid-2024. Each brick laid, each beam raised, and every detail carefully considered brought them closer to where their family history would continue to unfold, a home that would witness the laughter, love, and growth of generations to come.
